I just wanted to send out a reminder that the end of June is the end of the 2nd Qtr. profitability results for insurance companies. This means there are organized efforts to locate vulnerable claims, and conduct investigations to create the illusion that claims should be denied.
Already, insurers are requesting updated information, IMEs, and field interviews in order to gain the advantage of documentation supporting denials. Although I send out these messages quarterly, I’m wondering if readers actually take them seriously. You can be assured that your insurance company is doing everything it can to locate claims they can easily deny before the end of June.
DCS clients have been properly advised as to what to do from now until the end of next month. General readership is advised to act promptly and diligently when requested to do something before the end of June. Also, be aware of why these requests are being made at this time, and pay special attention to Plan and policy language.
Please also keep in mind that Memorial Day holiday is this weekend and surveillance lookers will be out there. Abiding by your reported restrictions and limitations is strongly recommended.
