Yesterday, I received a call from a former 2005 client thanking me for assisting her with a MetLife claim that is now nearing the maximum duration of claim because she is turning age 65. The recollections of this dear woman and what transpired in her life over the last 17 years was indeed heartfelt and sincere, bringing tears to my eyes.
I remember this claim vividly, and the difficulties of helping my client continue benefits with MetLife at a time when it looked as though the company was dedicated to denying her claim. Extremely ill, and confused, my client contemplated suicide in order to avoid a life without resources. “I don’t think you realize, Linda, how much you helped me and the value I placed on having you by my side. I was ready to pack it all in, but you persuaded me to stay the course.I’m glad I did. I just wanted to call you today and say, “Thank you” now that my claim is ended.”
The role of a Consultant is more than just having a 98% success rate and helping to fill out forms. Although everyone views my services differently, there are occasions when my words have more “life supporting value”, a part of my job I take very seriously. “Having my MetLife claim over these many years gave me the time to grow healthy in body and spirit. Thank you, Linda.”
Thank you to my Client for taking the time to call me and letting me know how much you appreciated my help. I am so thankful that you were able to move forward with your life. And, I’m sure there’s more to come now that your claim has reached its maximum duration. I wish you all my best for continued success, and please do keep in touch.
