Sadly,I am announcing that the sister non-profit corporation to DCS, Inc., the National Coalition of Disability Insureds is now defunct. Although it was originally created to give insureds and claimants a voice with federal and state regulators, it never seemed to operate as intended.
When it appeared that so many insureds were too scared to go on record with regulators, I wrote several articles saying, “I’m not going to stick my neck out defending insureds, when they refuse to defend themselves.” Still, I kept NCDI as an active non-profit hoping that someday insureds would realize the power of a “coalition”, but it never materialized. Insureds were, and are, still too afraid to act publicly in their own best interests.
Therefore, I’ve decided to finally put NCDI to rest. In my opinion, a missed opportunity.
