This is just a reminder that Unum is once again scraping the bottom of the barrel for SSDI overpayments to successfully queeze the last nickel and dime from its claimants.
For the last month or so, Unum has been sending out letters requesting claimants send one of three sources of information about SSDI. This is Unum’s second wave of recalculation SSDI projects focused on cashing in on overpayments due to error.
While I don’t think anyone would disagree that Unum has the right to correct its errors, my objection is “just how many errors does Unum make”, and why won’t the company send out automatic spreadsheet calculation proof that that overpayment alleged owed is legitimate. In addition, may claimants are on their third recalculation! If Unum doesn’t find an overpayment does the company keep recalculating until it does?
In my opinion, Unum is really putting out a very pitiful scrape the bottom of the barrel chase for nickel and dimes it probably doesn’t have.
