The purpose of this blog is to bring together insureds and claimants with an expert who knows how to manage disability claims from hands on experience. Unfortunately, the administration and review of claims for disability by such companies as Unum Group, Prudential Financial, Guardian, Northwestern Mutual, Principal, and Sun Life consists of internal strategies designed to deny legitimate claims that should be paid. In addition, thousands of middle class workers with employer provided ERISA short and long-term disability claims are denied with little expectation of recourse to overturn really bad claim decisions.
Given the current state of technology and review, it is likely that a high percentage of claims will be denied before maximum duration of benefits. Although most insureds will never be guaranteed benefits long-term, it is possible with expert assistance to keep benefit paid for maximum duration or a lifetime. You just have to know how to do it.
While having an expert on your side evens up the odds of continued claim success, insurance companies are flakey and can deny claims for any reason, anytime. However, “doing the right thing” is a huge step toward having a successful claim until maximum duration. I’m finding that while insureds seem to be confident that “they know what they’re doing”, frequently they don’t, and wind up at my door anyway. Insureds and claimants really need an expert to help them along the way.
Please try to keep in mind that this Blog is NOT the end-all to the management of disability claims. The information I publish here is always related to “common themes reported to me by more than one person, and information in the industry that I think you should know. Using Lindanee’s Blog to manage claims is just enough to cause you to think you know what you’re doing when you really don’t. I am aware that readers frequently use this blog to self-manage claims, and it is a constant concern.
For the last two years DCS has had a 99-100 percent success rate considering all areas of claims management. This isn’t by accident. I’ve assisted several insureds with ERISA appeals, which I’m also happy to say have resulted in the reinstatement benefits.
I hope you will consider coming on board as a client. There is a great deal to be gained from working with a claims expert.
